The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0, and RB is breaking down the biggest takeaways from Philadelphia's Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders. While Jalen Hurts once again proved why he is one of the NFL's best quarterbacks, RB believes one Eagles defender deserves far more recognition after an incredible performance. That player is Zack Baun. Baun has quickly become one of the most important pieces of Vic Fangio's defense. After making the transition to linebacker, Baun has developed into a complete player who can defend, blitz, tackle and impact the game in multiple ways. Against Washington, Baun continued to show why he may be one of the biggest hidden gems in the NFL. RB explains why Baun fits Fangio's system perfectly and why he could eventually receive Defensive Player of the Year consideration. RB also breaks down the Eagles' dominant cornerback performance. Quinyon Mitchell and Riq Woolen locked down one of the NFL's best receivers in Terry McLaurin, combining to allow only three catches for 16 yards on eight targets. RB explains why Philadelphia may have the best cornerback trio in the NFL. Jalen Hurts is also a major focus. After another offseason filled with criticism, Hurts once again proved his doubters wrong. RB breaks down Hurts' improved downfield passing, his ability to attack the middle of the field and the biggest play of the game β€” his 22-yard scramble on third-and-18 that helped set up the game-winning touchdown. The video also covers the Eagles' biggest concern after Week 1: the offensive line. Landon Dickerson struggled against Washington, and RB explains why Philadelphia needs to monitor the situation closely. While it is only one game, the Eagles' success is directly tied to the offensive line's ability to protect Hurts and create opportunities in the running game. RB also discusses: πŸ¦… Sean Mannion's first game as offensive coordinator πŸ¦… Makai Lemon's rookie debut πŸ¦… The Eagles' improved use of motion and play action πŸ¦… The Cowboys' disappointing Week 1 performance πŸ¦… Why Philadelphia has reason to be excited moving forward The Eagles are 1-0, but there is still plenty to improve. 0:00 Eagles Are 1-0 + Biggest Week 1 Takeaways 0:27 Cooper DeJean's Rough Game & Accountability 1:10 Eagles Cornerbacks Are ELITE 2:17 Vic Fangio's Defensive Masterclass 3:17 The Eagles Have A HUGE Offensive Line Problem 5:42 Landon Dickerson's Future Is A Concern 6:19 Jalen Hurts Proves The Doubters Wrong 7:33 The 22-Yard Run That Changed Everything 8:38 Zach Baun Is A Defensive Superstar 10:09 Eagles Rookie Makai Lemon's Debut 11:07 Sean Mannion's Offense Shows Promise 12:10 Cowboys Get A Reality Check 13:13 Final Thoughts + Eagles Are 1-0 Subscribe to A to Z Sports Philly for daily Eagles news, analysis, reactions and coverage throughout the NFL season. #PhiladelphiaEagles #Eagles #JalenHurts #ZackBaun #FlyEaglesFly

The Philadelphia Eagles finally open the 2026 NFL season against the Washington Commanders, and RB has his final prediction for the matchup. RB believes Philadelphia is the better team and expects the Eagles to eventually pull away, with his official prediction coming in at Eagles 26, Commanders 13. The biggest key for Philadelphia will be defense. RB believes the Eagles cannot allow Washington to hit explosive plays, particularly with Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs capable of creating big plays. Vic Fangio's defense has been much better at preventing explosive plays, and RB expects Philadelphia to keep Daniels contained while putting pressure on him throughout the game. Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis could also be major factors. RB believes the two Eagles defensive tackles have a chance to become one of the best interior defensive line tandems in the NFL and expects them to make a statement in Week 1. RB also discusses the uncertainty surrounding Jonathan Greenard. Greenard returned to practice after missing months with a pec injury, but he admitted that he does not yet know if he'll be ready to play Sunday. RB believes Philadelphia can survive if Greenard doesn't play, but getting him back into the rotation soon would be a major boost for the defense. On offense, RB wants to see Philadelphia establish the run with Saquon Barkley and get creative with the new Sean Mannion offense. That means more play-action, rollouts, under-center formations, designed movement and opportunities for Jalen Hurts to use his legs. RB isn't expecting the Eagles' offense to be perfect immediately. Instead, he believes it could take Philadelphia a few drives to find its rhythm before the offense starts opening up. DeVonta Smith could also be in line for a massive game. After former Eagle Jason Avant called Smith a more complete receiver than AJ Brown, RB believes this could be Smith's statement game and an opportunity to prove he can be Philadelphia's true No. 1 receiver. Saquon Barkley is also entering the season with something to prove. After being told only four running backs in the past two decades have rushed for more than 1,300 yards at age 29, Barkley made it clear that his competitive mentality has him believing he can be the next player to do it. So will the Eagles start the season 1-0? RB's official prediction: Eagles 26, Commanders 13. Philadelphia covers, the defense takes over late and Saquon Barkley breaks off a big run. RB breaks down everything that happened after AJ Brown's Patriots debut, including his injury, Drake May's struggles, Romeo Doubs' disastrous performance and why Philadelphia's side of the trade is already looking better and better. AJ Brown suffered an apparent high-ankle injury during New England's loss to Seattle, with X-rays reportedly negative for a fracture and an MRI expected to determine how much time he will miss. RB makes it clear that he hopes Brown is okay, but believes the bigger football conversation is about what Philadelphia received in return and how the Eagles' roster has changed since moving on from their star receiver. Drake May also struggled badly against Seattle, particularly throwing the football downfield. RB compares May's performance to Jalen Hurts and argues that the Eagles quarterback deserves far more credit as a passer than he has received throughout the offseason. RB also looks at the wide receiver side of the transaction. New England signed Romeo Doubs to a four-year, $68 million contract, while Philadelphia added Dontavion Wicks. Doubs finished his Patriots debut with three targets and zero catches, including a huge dropped pass, while RB believes Wicks could ultimately give Philadelphia more value at a much lower cost. And Philadelphia still has the additional draft capital it received as part of the AJ Brown transaction. RB explains why he believes this is already starting to look like another Howie Roseman win. But that's not the only major Eagles news. Jonathan Greenard is finally back on the practice field after missing months with a pec injury. Greenard was not placed on the PUP list to begin the season, and his return to practice is a major development for Philadelphia's defensive line. RB explains why simply getting Greenard back on the field before Week 1 is a huge positive and how his return could impact Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith and the Eagles' pass rush rotation. Jalen Hurts also offered an interesting update on Philadelphia's new offense under Sean Mannion. For the first time in Hurts' NFL career, his play caller will be working from the booth instead of the sideline. Hurts says there is a lot that is new about the offense and that Philadelphia's game plan could change from week to week. RB breaks down what that could mean for Jalen Hurts, the Eagles' red-zone offense and Philadelphia's preparation heading into Week 1. Plus, RB has the latest injury updates from the Washington Commanders. A to Z Sports Giveaway Terms & Conditions: https://atozsports.com/jersey-giveaway-social-rules-2026/ The Philadelphia Eagles finally open the 2026 season this Sunday against the Washington Commanders, and RB believes this could be the perfect matchup for Philadelphia to make a statement. The biggest key to the game could be the Eagles' defensive line against the Commanders' offensive line. Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis are the two players RB believes could determine this game. Washington has major questions up front after losing Laremy Tunsil to a torn triceps and making several changes along the offensive line. RB believes that could create a nightmare situation for Jayden Daniels against an Eagles defensive front that also features Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith and potentially Jonathan Greenard. RB is predicting the Eagles could record six or seven sacks in the game and make life extremely difficult for Daniels. Philadelphia also needs to establish Saquon Barkley and the running game early. Rather than asking Jalen Hurts to carry the offense immediately, RB believes the Eagles should return to the complementary football that helped them win the NFC Championship against Washington in 2024. There are plenty of questions surrounding the Eagles' offense heading into Week 1, especially with Sean Mannion taking over as the offensive play caller. Fans are also eager to see DeVonta Smith operate as Philadelphia's No. 1 receiver and how much rookie Makai Lemon contributes against a banged-up Commanders secondary. RB also breaks down Philadelphia's new depth chart, which contains several surprises. Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee are both listed at QB2, Jonathan Greenard is listed as a co-starter alongside Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith, Marcus Epps is starting at safety over Michael Carter, and Makai Lemon has surprisingly been named the Eagles' punt returner. On the Washington side, RB examines Jayden Daniels, Stefon Diggs, Terry McLaurin, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rashad White and the Commanders' offensive line. Washington will also be without top cornerback Trey Amos, while Dorrance Armstrong is suspended. RB explains why he believes the Eagles have a major advantage heading into Week 1 and why Washington could struggle to score against Philadelphia's defense. The Eagles are favored by 5.5 points heading into Sunday's 4:25 PM ET kickoff. Will Philadelphia start the season 1-0? A to Z Sports Giveaway Terms & Conditions: https://atozsports.com/jersey-giveaway-social-rules-2026/ RB has six predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 season β€” three regular predictions and three BOLD predictions. With the NFL season right around the corner, RB breaks down exactly what he expects from the Eagles this year, including some predictions that might sound crazy right now but could look very different by the end of the season. First up are three predictions RB considers realistic. RB believes Saquon Barkley will rush for more than 1,200 yards in his second season with Philadelphia. Despite approaching 30 years old, RB believes Barkley's preparation, talent and the Eagles' offensive line will allow him to continue producing at an elite level. RB's second prediction is even bigger: Philadelphia will have the NFL's No. 1 defense in yards allowed per game. After finishing first in the league in 2024 and second in 2022, RB believes Vic Fangio has the formula to get the Eagles' defense back to the top of the NFL. Finally, RB predicts the Eagles will win the NFC East by at least two games. With questions surrounding the Cowboys, Commanders and Giants, RB believes Philadelphia has the talent to separate itself from the rest of the division. Then it's time for the three BOLD predictions. RB predicts Quinyon Mitchell will record four interceptions during the regular season. Mitchell has already recorded four interceptions in the postseason but has yet to get his first regular-season interception, and RB believes the addition of Riq Woolen will create even more opportunities for him. RB's second bold prediction is a monster breakout season for Jalyx Hunt. After making an impact in multiple ways last season, RB predicts Hunt will record 11.5 sacks and emerge as one of Vic Fangio's most important defensive chess pieces. And finally, RB has his biggest prediction of them all: DeVonta Smith will record more than 1,500 receiving yards. With AJ Brown no longer in Philadelphia, RB believes Smith is finally positioned to show everyone why the Eagles were comfortable moving on from Brown. If the Eagles' passing game is more aggressive and Jalen Hurts consistently gets the football to Smith, RB believes Smitty could even become an Offensive Player of the Year candidate. So which prediction do YOU believe? Will Saquon Barkley reach 1,200 yards? Can the Eagles have the NFL's best defense? Will Quinyon Mitchell finally start piling up regular-season interceptions? Can Jalyx Hunt reach 11.5 sacks? And is 1,500 yards actually possible for DeVonta Smith? Give RB your bold Eagles prediction in the comments.
